How to Elevate a Casual Day Look
Recently I was feeling really lazy when it comes to my styling (yes, it happens to me too sometimes). Those days where you want to be super causal will happen to all of us. These are a few easy tricks that I use to still be the best dressed without putting in too much effort and remaining casual.
GET THE LOOK
Try Monochromatic
There is something about keeping a consistent themed color in your look that really takes it to the next level. Even in this outfit, I wore a simple denim-on-denim theme that had a really stylish feel to it even though I threw it on pretty quickly. If you go for a monochromatic style, some color trends that aren’t going away anytime soon are black, denim, pastels, and neutrals.
Throw on Your Favorite Piece
When you look good you feel good. When you want to be a little bit more causal, but still fashion forward, try starting your styling with your favorite piece in your closet. We all have those pieces that are the first thing we look towards when we want a little bit of style and comfort. These pieces are also going to be what make you feel the most confident, even if you are having a “day off” from more intense styling.
Add Jewelry
I’ve mentioned in a YouTube haul recently that I think right now is a great time in men’s fashion because of the access to so many types of accessories. Throwing on jewelry can really pull everything together in a look, even when you are trying to just be casual. My favorite go-to’s are definitely a few stacked rings and bracelets. Recently, I have also been loving layering long necklaces with different turtlenecks. My personal favorite jewelry is silver, but sometimes it’s fun to break the “rules” a little bit and mix gold and silver pieces.
Throw on a Statement Shoe
A shoe can really make or break an outfit. If you are styling causal clothes and wanting to elevate it a bit, throw on a statement shoe. I have always believed that a good shoe on a man has a similar effect that a great handbag has on a women. She can have on the most generic and basic clothes, but if the bag is right, the whole look feels complete and she becomes stylish and fashion forward. One of the statement shoes I find myself wearing a lot these days are the FILA Disrupter Sneaker. Check out some other great ones below.
