The Best Statement Blazers and Suits For Transitioning into SS20

Hey, TLC Tribe! It may not feel like it, but Spring is pretty much here. Well, at least all the online retailers are telling us. This transitional period, when it’s just starting to get a bit warmer, is a great time to begin to pick up a pair of new light wash denim, a fresh pair of spring/summer sneakers, or a bold statement piece of outerwear. I have been wearing so much black, neutral and beige this Fall/Winter, which you know I love, but I am excited to embrace a bit bolder and brighter colors into my life (and my Instagram feed).

Tailoring is one of the SS20 trends that I adore and have been admiring since the shows during last fashion month. My favorite designers, street style stars, and content creators have been embracing this trend, I can’t get enough. Oversized, cropped, sequin, you name it! I think there is just something powerful and refined, yet fresh and high-fashion when you wear a unique blazer or suit.

Autumnal hues, double-breasted blazers, and stripes are also big trends for this upcoming Spring/Summer, and I somehow was able to tie each one of them into this look. Ya, I’m surprised too. For this look, I wanted to take out my brand new super bold oversized statement suit from one of my favorite brands, NOAK. This Scandinavian brand is excellent for clean-cut and effortlessly easy styled pieces that mix classic cuts with more trendy attributes. I paired it with a white turtleneck, a great transitional piece for the Spring. The white detail works to break up the bold mustard color and tie-in with the decorative stripes of the blazer and pants. To break up the look a bit more, I threw on a black coat with exaggerated shoulders. This heavy top paired perfectly with my Bottega Veneta Square-Toe Lace Up Shoes, which I am still freaking out that I was able to get my hands on.

Since suiting and tailoring continue to dominate the men’s fashion space, I wanted to share some of my “wish-list” pieces, and those that I think are good options if you're going to embrace this style for yourself. Pick up a full suit and book a fancy dinner, or throw on a blazer and jeans and hop downtown to chill with friends. There are so many great options and style pairings, so explore!
