Jacquemus Le Chiquito: Best Bag for City Travel
If you have been keeping up with any of my social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube) you would have seen that I was on a solo trip to Paris. While in the fashion capital of the world, I had to make sure I had all my favorite bags and accessories to get the perfect travel #OOTD shots. I originally thought the Le Chiquito would be the most impractical of the accessories I brought, but It ended up being perfect for exploring and sightseeing in a major city like Paris.
First, let’s talk about the first question that comes to everyone’s mind when this bag is a topic of discussion… “So what can you fit in there?” The bag actually fits all the necessities when traveling: keys, credit cards, headphones, and identification. One of the reasons this bag is so great for traveling in a city like Paris is because it is no hassle. Something that all travelers must be cognizant of when exploring a major city, especially in Europe, is the risk of being pickpocketed in crowded areas. What is great about the Le Chiquito is that the oversized handle and flap make it virtually impossible to open when it is worn as a crossbody. In more crowded areas like Avenue des Champs-Élysées or the Eiffel Tower I wasn’t worried about getting my things taken, while my other bags like my Louis Vuitton Palm Springs Backpack or Soft Trunk caused me a bit more anxiety.
Additionally, the bag is prefect for the transition from day to night. I would keep it on me throughout the day while I hit up museums and popular sights in more casual clothes and then change into a suit for a show and keep the bag crossbody through both looks.
There are so many conflicting thoughts about the practicality of this bag. Some love it, some hate it, but there is no denying that Jacquemus took the micro bag trend to the next level and created a cult classic in the fashion world. I have always loved this bag ever since I saw it on some of my favorite street style instagrammers, but after this trip I have fell in love with it’s usefulness as well!
