I Tried The Zombie Facial!
Recently I made the mistake of walking into Barneys New York to “JUST look around”… when does that actually happen. I was doing a pretty good job at sticking to my goal of window shopping, walking up and down the floors of the Men’s Department. Just as I was about to walk out the doors onto Madison Ave, I thought “let me look downstairs in the beauty department.” This my friends was my downfall…
I don’t know what it is about skincare and beauty products that I love and find so fascinating. I think a big part of it is the packaging (because if you know me I am a sucker for great branding and packaging). Anyway, while I was in the beauty section, I made my way to the Mask Bar where I found the Hanacure Face Mask. I had seen a lot of this product on Instagram and YouTube, so the “zombie facial” as it has been coined, ended up coming home with me. Later that week, on a quiet Sunday night, I decided to try it. HERE’S WHAT HAPPENED….
Applying the mask was like a science experiment. Inside the INCREDIBLE packaging, you will find the instruction manual, gel solution, mixing solution, and the signature Hanacure brush. After prepping the skin (I washed with my favorite SkinCeuticals LHA Cleanser Gel), you are instructed to empty the contents of the vial into the gelling solution and shake for about 20-30 seconds. This creates a jelly-like substance that you apply around the face, neck, and top of the hands. This is where things get weird…
The mask is supposed to stay on for 30 minutes, but at around 5 minutes is when things really start to change. The gel begins to harden and tighten all around the face, neck, and hands. You can see why they call it the “zombie facial”…
After the 30 minutes was over, the mask comes off and let me tell you, the difference is noticeable immediately. You know the look your skin has after you get those $$$ facials at the spa? That’s what your skin looks like after using this product. The $29 for a one time use product may seem high, but for the quality of the product and the immediate results it is definitely worth it to me.
